Poem for her 982
Away for the week
I came back to the cabin
Having been gone for a week
The blue book had a blank page
Then drawings
Two flowers pressed
And lipstick in a kiss
I kissed her for a day
It took that long it seemed
May was just around the corner
White coat in the elevator
Kissing between floors
Kissing during our card game
Then the snow fell
And first kiss of the new Year
All that day long of her lips
On mine
Happy Birthday Babe,
Charles.
