Poem for her 621

Dear Readers,

The Walk

That day we were sitting in the living room
Thought to walk to the library
The one in the house in town
Just a few steps over there
Toward the bedrooms
But just not there in a side room
Just a spare bedroom
Turned to books and a desk
There on the desk a computer
Once dad's now ours
There all around the walls
Books and things

There that day when strolling in the big city
Over there across the river large
There is that big building and others
The books in the bookstore many
The books and things
Hard to get a full feel for
Only once there is never enough
Kinda like a good library
Often visited
Walked to from a parking lot
Or from the couch

There the cabin in the woods
The library small and select
The big one in town
The one we helped start
The books many and all over
The kids in the reading room
The parents too
The books on all topics
There a walk after a drive
The park outside planted too
Walking hand in hand with you

Happy Birthday Babe,

Charles.
