Poem for her 615
Dear Readers,
Camera shy
There that slight turn of head
The face away from my camera eye
There I come around a corner sharp
Hand held just so
There your face as the shutter blinks
The Camera shy smile
Knowing once I am turned
Might turn back with camera on
So you watch close
See my hands move
Then sway your skirts
There being camera shy
Patient stare at my face
Knowing the film is rolling
Watching your gaze
Seeing you move
The sweep of room behind
You there in the focus true
I look to see you smile
As film rolls ask you to say
Something
Then you do
I smile on camera sound
There those tones soft
Smiles as you happy say
Look at my nails
Happy Birthday Babe,
Charles.
Camera shy
There that slight turn of head
The face away from my camera eye
There I come around a corner sharp
Hand held just so
There your face as the shutter blinks
The Camera shy smile
Knowing once I am turned
Might turn back with camera on
So you watch close
See my hands move
Then sway your skirts
There being camera shy
Patient stare at my face
Knowing the film is rolling
Watching your gaze
Seeing you move
The sweep of room behind
You there in the focus true
I look to see you smile
As film rolls ask you to say
Something
Then you do
I smile on camera sound
There those tones soft
Smiles as you happy say
Look at my nails
Happy Birthday Babe,
Charles.
