Poem for her 253

Dear Readers,

Her Smile

She sits there in a green shirt
It is ours it fits me for the day
It fits her whenever she wants it too
She is sitting at the table face smiling
She is laughing at my comment
The moment is captured on video
Days like this I want to hold
In all my years capture her smile
See her as she swings on the porch
See her look at the old houses
See her as she smiles at the flowers
In the garden we just walked into
The smile she has when she sees me
The smile she has when the moon rises
The smile she has when I draw her face
Into my cupped hand and stare at her
Her smile in the many years ahead

Happy Birthday Babe,

Charles.
