Poem for her 121
Dear Readers,
The Cards
They sat there on the table
Her hands were above them
Elbows on the table
My hands were above them
Elbows on the table
Our hands were on each other's hands
The Cards though there, were untouched
They had been untouched for over an hour
We were just sitting there
Staring at each other
Talking about something or the other
The topic was ever changing
The hands always moving
But not touching anything but each other
The cards were not going to get touched
The two of us talking the night away
Together holding hands
All night long
Talking
Happy Birthday Babe,
Charles.
