Poem for her 484

Dear Readers,

Flowers on the table

The pansies were in cups and pots and a tray
All ready to be set out in the yard places
There you were with pencil in hand and chart
The layout of the yard and your glasses on
You had a new job were being a consultant
The girl in the mirror of my dreams and smiles
There doing the job I had offered you just today
But this was a layered forward and backwards look
The past perfect tense of the verb being Home
We have sat down with notebook between us
There with pen in hand and drawn out plans
This day the flowers were on the table and many
Ready to be planted to grow bigger and bright
Then some picked and added to salads and tea
The seed packs would go into other ground
There was lots of time as the clocks go Tick
Talk about the tock and the click clack and
You might look at a nail and say Red today?
Or you might just smile at me more coffee love.

Happy Birthday Babe,

Charles.
