Poem for her 482

Dear Readers,

Summer springs

Those days when the heat outside is muggy hot
But it is only spring and the storms warm
The flowers have been up a few days
Some picked and put in the presses for later
The trees aren't even leafed out fully
The season is still barely out of winter
But the heat is here and summer feels closer
The day is so hot you break out the shorts
I like your legs so don't mind seeing them
The heat is odd in spring like this
The flannel sheets come off the bed
The sweaters get thought of being put up
The cold is likely lurking close by so
We keep a watch out and the spare blanket
The shorts have belt loops too, such joy
Legs and the slow sure tug and then a kiss
The days warm but the mint julep iced
Minty fresh kisses and slow porch swings

Happy Birthday Babe,

Charles.
