Poem for her 474

Dear Readers,

Spring Snow

The porch was a bit cold but we swung
The snow was falling on our flowers
Why we wondered did the snow come back
We knew the warm weather was somewhere
Just not at the cabin yet like it was
Just days ago when we were out planting
The camera did take a photo of me Barefoot
Ankles deep in the new snow of yesterday
Today we braved the chill to sit and swing
We cuddled and shared the hand warmers
We got up and took one last look at the snow
Went inside and drank our hot mint tea
Then the dinner warmed us more and cards
Then the long long slow dance of evening
The comfy bed and hot fireplace and
Kissing into the wee hours and sleep
The dawn shone and the snow was gone
A distant memory with more flowers out
The Spring watered in chill water but fresh
Fresh like your lips on mine every day

Happy Birthday Babe,

Charles.
