Poem for her 469

Dear Readers,

Purple spring

The flower buds coming out on the bushes
The color of the red bud in the back yard
The color of that new nail polish on you
The little flowers in the grass has lines
Of purple leaves and thin purple in the buds
The color of that dress you looked at
The shine of the fabric in that bed spread
The days long with chocolate Merlot raisins
The kiss of your lips on my hand slow and sweet
The pull of the color of sweater overhead
The toss of your hair in the tie
The long slow day of card playing and then
The long slow night of color me drawings
The ones where I get to paint on your toes
The long slow slumber of the spring day
Touching you softly with fingers and breath

Happy Birthday Babe,

Charles.
