Poem for her 448

Dear Readers,

Off to the Beach

The tropical sun was just so
The small greek isle slow and mild
The breezes were salty and sweet
The trip was long in the making
Passports gotten pennies saved
The trip was slow by plane
The boat ride was fast that day
The sea a color you'd only seen
In pictures telling you it'd be
We weren't old, and we weren't young
But just right for the trip
The cabin in the woods still in green
The city house a still silence
The surf was calm and the rocky hills too
Though there were words you wanted to say
We did a lot of walking and hand holding
Then the day grew dimmer and I said

Happy Birthday Babe,

Charles.
