Poem for her 519

Dear Readers,

You

You stand there with a white coat on and I see you
I was just coming back from the other elevator
There you are standing in white and the kiss lasts

You stand there and we chat the day is unknown
The place has changed since then and gone round
The Hugglies given to you then and piles of notepaper

You stand there looking out at a parking lot often
The kids and parents and door swings many an afternoon
The day and the night and the care for your charges

You stand there in the store asking me which cheese
Then we pick some fruits and some crackers counting
The days to eat it all, raspberries and avocado too

You stand there and you sway to the light and music
The camera seeing you in dark outline and we talk
About how to make a breakfast dish we'd never done

The images of all these events stand out and frame
The frame of scrapbook edges and the photos too
The You in all the threads of my life and kissey kissey
Babe You are the slice of heaven in my arms

Happy Birthday Babe,

Charles.
