Poem for her 514

Dear Readers,

That Blue

The pants you wore when you got home today
They could have been another color you say
Though I did pick the color blue out
Your thoughts were already leaning that way

The color of the sky today
The color of your eyes
The color of that flower
The color of the car we passed

Blue is a spring day and then the sky
Rolled up in a bottle of polish
The color of paint you want the room
The table clothe we bought
For the porch card table

The color of the bag your Merlot
And the dark chocolate
And the other raisins came in
Just not the blue of the sky

The subtle taste of your fingernails
The flow of the fine hairs of arm
The kiss of my lips down your back
They all make you smile and hum
The soft kiss of your lips
As I finish reading you this

Happy Birthday Babe,

Charles.
