Poem for her 518
Dear Readers,
Stripes
Wear stripes I said
Then the text returned
I picked already
The ask for a rose
Sent to her phone
The petals in a salad
The touch of soft
Skin of hand
In hand on table
The pictures taken
The feelings shared
The thoughts of
The things dreamed
The stare at your face
That slows my pace
That holds me in place
That has my breath
Stepped up to race
I smiled at the thought
Which to pick
Then typed
Wear stripes
Then the reply
The smile was deep
The thoughts complete
I see your face
Looking toward me
And hold you close
The photo and the Rose
The day in spring
The flowers bloom
The love refills
The pool of our days
Happy Birthday Babe,
Charles.
