Poem for her 694

Dear Readers,

Those showers

The rain was brewing in the west
Blowing as it does
The cold damp air
The garden sullen in the wind
The last of the green tomatoes picked
The green of the winter plants showing
The bathroom was warm
Fire in the fireplace
The bedroom toasty
The bathroom too
Bathrobe hung up
The towels were ready
I got you out of bed
Let you sip your hot tea
Then bundled you off to the warmth
The showers of fall
Turned the extra spray on
Water fall feature too
There you were the center of attention
The showers on you
Heating you up
Taking the aches away
Those showers of the cabin
There for you
There for you

Happy Birthday Babe,

Charles.
