Poem for her 398
Dear Readers,
The night
The sky dark and a few cloud hide the Moon
Your fingers lace into mine and pull be on
The porch swing rocks as we move off it
The fire is lite in our bedroom warm
The lights down low as we know where to step
The bed turned back and sheets cool
The night is just now long and dim
Another year has passed the turning
The spring season growing south to north
My voice soothing you and me to sleep
The touch of our hands together deep
Cuddling close you tell me the day's events
Whispers of the sheets and pillows move
Touching your back as we lay there
The sounds of our breathing lull us
The sounds of the fire logs crisp in the night
Happy Birthday Babe,
Charles.
