Poem for her377

Dear Readers,

Butterfly wings

You were wearing them when I first saw you
Glowing there on the floor of that place
Today with the stack of boxes held tall
You told me what you were going to do
But as it happened I laughed and smiled
I told you what it reminded me of and smiled
Your voice soft in my ear your smile sweet
The sound you make when you sigh and laugh
The wings of the butterfly softly drawn
The colors of your fingernails sparkle
I kiss your hand and ask for a dance
The dew fresh and cool and you giggle
The days longer than the clock hands
Only bird calls and wind sounds heard
I kiss your lips and the world melts away
You kiss my lips and the days vanish

Happy birthday Babe,

Charles.
