Poem for her 602
Dear Readers,
Part 5
would his hand fit in hers, yes it would like a glove
he'd have things to tell her of places and spaces
they'd walk to the libraries they'd be places
a few stray tears fall she wipes them on a towel
gets ready for bed the house finally quite the
music finally read for the band practice in the morning
soon she'd be in college what would that be like
then a dream of him again this time details
the meal is picnic and the food odd things she'd never
had there on crackers he seems to like crackers too
there is that odd can of pate he smiles as he
says he bought a whole case of it just for them
then she feels his hands in hers and the dream
seems so real she rolls over and his shoulder is there
he smiles at her and says you have been dreaming
and
Happy Birthday Babe,
Charles.
