Poem for her 538

Dear Readers,

Raining day

The fog was so thick we couldn't see the trees
They were just beyond the kitchen window
When we went out to feed the birds we felt it
Thick and heavy on our skin, You were glad
We could stay home today and not have to drive
The city house was in a fog bank and clouds
We knew up the hills the cabin was also in clouds
Then the rumble of rain heavy sounds we hurried
The rain started as we got to the gate
The drops into the fog hardly mattered we were wet
The rain lasted for a while the puddles deepened
The rain of these heating showers this year odd
Welcome as not a drought but a bit more damp
The veggie garden was looking for dry land
The birds sat on branches with wet feathers
I handed you a towel for the water on your face
The day was another great time to take a nap
So we did.

Happy Birthday Babe,

Charles.
