Poem for her 813
Dear Readers,
Shaded yard
Sunlight hidden by rain clouds
Grass dripping still from rain
Even if the sun were bright,
The yard would be shaded dim
Leaves of tall trees facing south
Only morning light hits the benches
Set like they are beside a porch swing
Flowers waiting for full summer still buds
Then four O'Clocks will burst sweet
Now moss and water and swampy feel
The rains seem to linger longer
Wanting to go sit out under the shade
Find a good spot and kiss for a while
Read a story out loud to her
Then kiss some more as the light fades
Happy Birthday Babe,
Charles.
