Poem for her 771

Dear Readers,

PJs

The long work day full of standing
The trip home long and tiring
The road rough and a bit muddy
There the porch light on
The hot mint tea poured from a thermos
The Fire place going strong
The PJs laid out and warm
The small of your back tender from bending
Rubbed on slow
The pain eased
The day slow now that you are home
Food ready
Table set
Sooth you to slumber soon
The cream in the cup of honey whiskey
The hot toddy mulled with spices
There the couch sings your name
The day's long steps drifting away
The sounds of you dozing off close
Off to warm bed
Fireplace glowing
Your PJs soft spring flowers
Off to sleep you go

Happy Birthday Babe,

Charles.
