Poem for her 418
Dear Readers,
Red and Gray
The colors that I picked when you asked
The 5 cards you had been working on almost done
The fifth and last making some headway
The morning was filled with me telling you
That dream I had of you and me
The morning filled with the hot coffee smell
The afternoon with the new manicure smiles
The hands together on the table glasses near
The smell of dinner still in the air
The plate we ate off of clean with napkin on top
The red still on but the gray gone
Those highlights in your hair shining in fire light
I wanted to hold you like the dream
So the dance started and the kissing too
Happy Birthday Babe,
Charles.
