Poem for her 317

Dear Readers,

Fall

Fall needs warm snuggles to last longer
In the mornings when the fireplace is just starting
The fire having settled out during the long nights
Hot coffee in the morning fresh as soon as we can
Get out of bed to get it ready for the day

Fall needs long shirts thicker than spring
As our bodies haven't had time to adjust
Since just yesterday it was blazing hot summer
Seems that fall arrived suddenly this year
So a longer time to get moving now from sleep

Fall needs the soft touches of summer just heated
With the slow slumber under thicker covers
Wondering when our bodies will get used to it
The heat is on the fire going and the logs ready
Tilt the solar panels further down till spring

Fall needs the long nights to be filled with her
Snuggled close and breathing long into the night
Newly clipped hair to grow longer as the fall goes
Into the winter and the long sleeves tucked into coats
Soon her hours of slumber will be sweetness near me

Happy Birthday Babe,

Charles.
