Poem for her 845
Dear Readers,
Visiting the city
Took a drive down out of the mountains
There is town, turn left at the light
Go 40 miles down the two Lane
There is the Highway on ramp
Up and up and down and straight on
The way to the city was a bit to go
She was driving, as she liked to do
I was soft conversation about fall
The change of going south to the city
There was our stop for a bite to eat
Picnic basket out of the trunk
Favorite things and some fruits
Back to the drive after a gas stop
The day was sun shiny we liked that
The city streets were odd things
Traffic light yet busy a change from town
We'd not been in the city for a while
Or was it just two months ago
So strange the heavy roads no dust
Oh there is the turn Our road
The house looks good
The smells of home
The soft bed and cuddles
Happy Birthday Babe,
Charles.
